Miller, Vera “Maureen” – Age 80, of Dartmouth and formerly of Musquodoboit Harbour, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2021, in Dartmouth General Hospital, with family by her side. Born in Bayers Settlement, she was the second youngest child of the late Burton and Jennie Bayers. She was an amazing Mom, and maybe an even more amazing grandmother and great- grandmother. Her greatest joy was actively playing with and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

To minimize the health effects of a devastating car accident in her early 20’s, Helena moved to Vancouver in the late ‘60s. She worked as a Senior Mechanical Designer in Vancouver, then took early retirement while running a small bed and breakfast. She maintained a beautiful garden of flowers inside her home as well as outside. Helena loved being with her many friends and travelled to the old country and Europe many times. Bob and Sadie also enjoyed travel, taking extended camping trips with the family throughout Canada and the USA. Bob and Sadie visited Bermuda, Bahamas, Barbados and Greece. Bob also traveled through Europe with brother, Hugh and Ireland with son, Rob. Bob was grateful for the many travel opportunities he had during his life to explore parts of the world and its people. Bob believed the earth was a beautiful place and, despite the evil that challenges all people daily, he believed that God’s handiwork, meaning and purpose for the world, would ultimately prevail.

Summers were spent at the family cottage in Huntsville, and it was there that she and Bob moved after Bob’s retirement, spending many enjoyable years as a full-time resident of Mica Mine Road. She will be dearly missed for her quick wit and warm sense of humour. A special thanks to the great staff and volunteers at Mississauga Extendicare. The death occurred at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital on Saturday, June 15, 2019 of Bill Forest at the age of 94.

Geremia passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 30th at the age of 94, surrounded by his family.
