Miller, Vera “Maureen” – Age 80, of Dartmouth and formerly of Musquodoboit Harbour, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2021, in Dartmouth General Hospital, with family by her side. Born in Bayers Settlement, she was the second youngest child of the late Burton and Jennie Bayers. She was an amazing Mom, and maybe an even more amazing grandmother and great- grandmother. Her greatest joy was actively playing with and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

• She was predeceased by Philip, her devoted husband of over 54 years, and by her brothers Peter and Keith Roberts.

• His later years were marked by volunteer work, which included a stint as Commanding Officer of the 851 Air Cadet Squadron and serving on the Glenwood Cemetery Board.

And I wanted time to do other things, to have my life be more mine. I was in the Community Choir right from the beginning; I love singing. I was in the Huntsville Community Policing for several years; I’d heard about it and thought “that looks different” and joined up.

Barb had dementia for the last couple years so moved from Burlington to Huntsville to be near her daughter and was lovingly cared for at Fairvern Nursing Home where she passed away. Mary was the loving mother of Kevin, Jennifer, Jeff , Cindy “Lou” Leclerc and Andrew . Cherished grandmother of Gregory, Jessica, Austin, Owen, Curtis, Benjamen and Nicolas. Left to mourn but never forget is her dearest friend Madeliene Lapointe.

To minimize the health effects of a devastating car accident in her early 20’s, Helena moved to Vancouver in the late ‘60s. She worked as a Senior Mechanical Designer in Vancouver, then took early retirement while running a small bed and breakfast. She maintained a beautiful garden of flowers inside her home as well as outside. Helena loved being with her many friends and travelled to the old country and Europe many times. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Pauline, to the BC Cancer Foundation, an organization that she supported over many years, including in the face of her husband’s nine-year battle with cancer. Condolences may be shared with Pauline’s family through His presence was found in every facet of our lives, through baptisms, sacraments, housewarmings, marriages, celebrations, and beside hospital beds. We have known him as a pastor, teacher, confessor, counsel, brother, and a friend. Father fell ill in the beginning of 2022 and bravely fought his illness. He passed away peacefully on May 20, 2022, in the comfort of his home. Aloysius felt that he found contentment and fulfillment in his life as a priest, servant, man of prayer, preacher of the Word, mediator and man of the people. Esperance D’Souza passed away peacefully at age 97 on Sunday, July 3rd, 2022.

One of Bob’s greatest passions was vacationing with wife, Sadie and children at their cottage in Kempt Head. Bob & Sadie attended at Kempt Head most years from 1955 to 2016. Bob and Sadie also enjoyed travel, taking extended camping trips with the family throughout Canada and the USA. Bob and Sadie visited Bermuda, Bahamas, Barbados and Greece. Bob also traveled through Europe with brother, Hugh and Ireland with son, Rob. Bob was grateful for the many travel opportunities he had during his life to explore parts of the world and its people. Bob believed the earth was a beautiful place and, despite the evil that challenges all people daily, he believed that God’s handiwork, meaning and purpose for the world, would ultimately prevail.

Summers were spent at the family cottage in Huntsville, and it was there that she and Bob moved after Bob’s retirement, spending many enjoyable years as a full-time resident of Mica Mine Road. She will be dearly missed for her quick wit and warm sense of humour. A special thanks to the great staff and volunteers at Mississauga Extendicare. The death occurred at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital on Saturday, June 15, 2019 of Bill Forest at the age of 94.

They ultimately settled in Vancouver, where their daughters, Annette and Suzanne, were born. They became proud Canadian citizens, and eventually moved to acreage in rural Langley, where they have lived for the past 47 years. He started a wine importing company, LCP Wines with his friends Dr. Larry Burr and the late Charlie Harris. Thanks to Barb’s hobby of genealogy, many extended family members in England and Scotland became good friends. Gerry passed away peacefully on Feb 18, 2021 in the comfort of his home with his loving and caring wife Nellie of 60 years by his side. After a brave, courageous battle with cancer, our beloved Robert Joseph Helman passed into Jesus’ welcoming arms on March 21, 2021. Vancouver on July 16, 1963, with his wife Emilia, and his 5 daughters, Rosa, Carmela, Felicia, Francesca and Anna. The family then moved to Burnaby where they lived for the last 58 years. Geremia passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 30th at the age of 94, surrounded by his family.

He loved Celtic music, especially fiddle tunes and the bagpipes. He also enjoyed telling his kids stories of growing up at the “end of a country road” and stood strong in his roots.
