Hanoi House is a Vietnamese restaurant with two locations in Peterborough – one is downtown on Hunter Street West and the other is on Lansdowne Street West. Both locations offer the same simple but delicious menu but they each have their own unique features. The downtown location offers fresh shucked oysters while the Lansdowne location offers a few more additional items. There are also several vegetarian and vegan options. If you order a pizza from Pizza Pizza, all funds raised will go toward our project for outdoor initiatives. The money we raised this year was used to add a sundial and picnic tables outside. Hopefully, by September, they will be in place for students to use during school hours and to the community after school. The students will help us pick the next item to add depending on funds raised from these three nights. We will be using an online program called myfreebingocards.com. You will get a link by email to access your bingo card, and additional links to send to your friends. Cards may be played on line or printed to play on paper. Joining the Spring Fair committee is a great way to meet other parents and be involved in our biggest fundraising event. There are many ways to get involved in your school and we wanted to highlight some of the events and activities organized by the School Advisory Council and the volunteers. The following is a snapshot of some of the opportunities to meet other parents, staff and get to know your child’s peers. Earth day is special in our office, and this year it fell squarely on Pizza Wednesday. We encourage business owners and event organizers/planners to submit in our online directory. An annual Spring shopping event at Cedarvale complete with local vendors with everything from toys, clothing, jewellery, art, and more. There’s also a raffle and delicious snacks available. Monthly SAC meetings allow parents to hear first-hand what is happening in the school, plan for upcoming initiatives and bring ideas forward. The Principal gives the monthly Principal’s Report about classroom activities; facility updates and new initiatives. The SAC committee gives updates on SAC related activities and brings forward proposals/requests for expenditures.

The EcoSchools Committee, made up of students, parents and teachers, holds a variety of events throughout the year including a movie night, clothing drive and a toy and book sale.
