Shared from the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo
The Municipality is encouraging residents and business owners to register as delegates in advance of the Council meeting on July 28 about flood risk, which is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
Please note: Residents don’t need to register to watch the meeting. The meeting will be streamed as usual at rmwb.ca/council. Residents only need to register to speak or to provide a written response.
Delegates are encouraged to register immediately. The deadline to register is Monday, July 27 at noon.
“It’s essential we continue to hear from residents, those impacted by the 2020 floods and the entire community,” said Mayor Don Scott. “I strongly encourage anyone interested to register and participate in this Council meeting as we continue this community conversation. Community resilience is important to all of us, recognizing there are different perspectives on what that means for residents and our neighbourhoods.”
To register, email Legislative.Assistants@rmwb.ca or call 780-743-7001. Please indicate whether you will be joining via teleconference or providing a written submission.
Delegates must provide their name, phone number and email address. For more information, visit rmwb.ca/council.

Let’s continue the community conversation on flood risk. We’ll dig deeper on popular topics and discuss questions that we didn’t get a chance to address at the townhall on July 20.
